Dolly has been a role model for all my male dogs. I can’t stop laughing when I see yet another small boy trying to copy everything she does.
Ardbeg loved Dolly. I’m glad Brian likes her a lot, too. There’s nothing better than following an example of a dog who is naturally inquisitive, calm but playful, friendly but cautious with dodgy looking strangers, affectionate but not forceful or overly demanding.
Lily’s teaching Brian that home is safe, that his new family are loving, fun and non-threatening-no matter what. She’s shown him where to sleep, where the toy boxes are, that our cats are under protection. One day she’ll hopefully help to train him. But outside, Lily has her fears at times, so I’m glad Dolly has accepted her new admirer.
